Granny's old house.

So I finally set off. I had to spent a day and a half in my Grandma's old house in mumbai first which was good. I had a crash course in knitting with her. My aunt also used to be very keen on it, when she was younger so my grandma had some of her knitting stuff packed away in one of her old cupboards, which I have now inherited. All sizes of needles and some wool, so I have another thing to keep my hands busy, although at the moment, i'm really quite bad at it!! Hopefully i'll get better. Anyways, if there's one reason, why I really love my granny's house, its because its so ancient and I love looking through her old black and white photos even though they're a little faded and damaged, I think that adds to their essence. It shows how old they really are. My Grandad was quite a fan of photography like me! He used to develop the photos at home and he took good ones as well. I ofcourse went mad with my camera, initially out of boredom and then out of interest and took some photos inside the house, in her garden (where i got bitten alive by mosquitos and scared to death by two dogs which barked at me out of the blue while I was minding my own business!) and of some old photos. I'm posting some up here, you'll have to please excuse some of the rather abstract or random photos.

some shots from an old album

I captured a shot of this cat from my gran's garden. It was actually much closer but walked away when I came nearer and as I am no good with cats, it also completely ignored my attempts at calling it back so I had to keep my distance to photograph it.

This would be a random one, for some reason i like it.

A busy day...

Orville is in Bangalore... He and Grace came home for a biriyani lunch today. It was good to see Hebron people again. Anyways, Grace had to leave pretty early, she's keeping herself busy and doing all sorts of things. So Orville and I went to try and catch a movie but no luck so we sat and chatted at Coffee Day instead and then looked at some books at Crosswords, which is one the quietest places i've been to in Bangalore. It was a good day and in the evening I will be attending my brother's surprise birthday party which Dinah and I organised!! I'm very excited, I love surprise parties!

at home...

(there are more photos, but blogger is being a pain in the ass again and not letting me upload them, so will try later...)

# 44, Nambala Close, the house I grew up in...

I love google earth, its absolutely fascinating. Anyways, brother, my mum and I were just looking at Lusaka using google earth and we found our little house!!! It truly is very small, i've marked a red circle around it. Its a duplex flat, which means the house next to it is exactly the same, we even share a common wall between the two houses, so if you broke it down, it'd be a big house, each side being a mirror image of the other! So yeah, that's where I will be living for the next fours months.

P.S Ahem! By the way the house marked on this isn't quite the right one! I made a little mistake but its close enough. It looks just like the one marked but is just one street up. Sorry!

Lunch with the Family

Dinah's mum, my brother and papa
My mum and Dinah (the soon to be daughter-in-law!)

My Outing with Miss Smith and Grace to the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium in Bangalore...

They had this very amusing physics playground and some interesting experiments. I'm not sure about the techinical side of them but they were quite interesting. This one was called Resonant Pendulums and that's grace testing it!

Grace and Miss Smith testing out the crystal gym which is a model of... the compostion of graphite... or something like that... I hated chemistry!!

Something for me to try out... So here's how it works... You sit on the seat and then somebody spins you around and then as you pull the weights on either side, towards you and it starts to spin faster leaving you, at the end of the experience, very very dizzy!!!

Hello Everyone!!

Heya, I came across this website and thought I would just try it out, as I am bored and have nothing to do and this looks like fun... So yeah, for your interest i'll try and put up photos of different things when my life finally starts getting interesting! Thus putting my camera to good use on which I have finally figured out how to turn off the flash after six months of using it!!! Nothing much going on now but hopefully when I finally get to Zambia and meet all my old buddies, i'll have lots to say!!
