Tired of running.

We run from God; He calls us back. We hide from God; He seeks us out. We chase false gods; He reminds us He is the One True God, and He guards us jealously.
I am tired, please pray for me.
I don't want to be a Jonah anymore.

You tag me, I tag you.

A-Available? So, what if I am?
B-Best friend: I don't like this question. How can I possibly pick one? Or even a few?
C-Cake or Pie: Cake!
D-Drink of choice: Cold Coffee with a nice big dollop of fattening cream on top thankyouverymuch.
E-Essential thing used everyday: Lipbalm. =D

G-Gummi bears or worms: Worms, sour glow worms!
H-Hometown: That's the stupidest question you could ask a TCK.
I-Indulgence: For some strange reason the thing that popped into my mind is Abads chilly chicken in Ooty. But it's really dosa. Hand me a cheese dosa anyday, anytime. I love, I love.
J-January or February: FEBRUARY!!!!!!!!
K-Kids and names: Well I have thought about it, I won't lie. But I'm not telling YOU. =P
L-Life is incomplete without: Music. No doubt about it. And people. Just the ordinary people around you. Can you imagine having the whole world just to yourself?
M-Marriage date: Find me a groom, I'll give you a date! ;)
N-Number of siblings: One. What a boring question.

X-rays you have had: None.
Y-Your favourite food: I think I already answered this. Dosa - Cheese dosa...!
Z-Zodiac: Aquarius

There you go... Incase you wanted to know, I was tagged by Sharan.

So I'm moving out of the hostel tomorrow and surprise, surprise, I STILL don't know where I will live next year. As of now, it's back to Andheri with my Granny. I haven't really had time to think about it or do anything constructive cause I've been trying to pack (why does it always come down to this? every year, I have to pack up my life and move. I'm not sure if I'm complaining. i'm just bleh), finish of my cooking and baking classes, run errands and most importantly spend time with my friends in the hostel before I leave.

Anyway, so I MAY not blog for a while. I'm off to Calcutta on the 31st. Yay!

And then back to Bangalore for the rest of the holiday.

Here are some photos I took at my cooking class... We made mini-pizzas, macaroni and a macaroni salad!
It was an experience. Some of the people drove me crazy though and I realised that I am such a kitchen-nazi. I always have been actually. Ask Meg, Niru, Alva. I much rather do stuff myself, and I HATE dirty kitchens. You cook, you clean. They just have to go together, y'know? Sheesh. So you see what I mean when I say, I'm a kitchen-nazi?

It all started with a chair.

Juno = freaking good movie.

I went yesterday with Tilo and Dipit. See below.
Dipit, Tilo and Me (I owe it to these people for making my life funtimes in the hostel)
Twas good fun. Except for a bunch of stupid boys who were sitting behind us and being annoyingly LOUD. It's one of my pet-peeves. I can't stand it when people keep talking through movies. Especially good ones.
So I still don't know where I will be staying next year. I haven't really looked. I really don't have a clue HOW to go about it. I feel like a lost puppy. But it's not like I'm out on the streets either. I'm moving to my Gran's place this Thursday and will be house-hopping through my friends' places till the end of March whether they like it or not. :D
We have one of those "parties" in the hostel again in this evening... The only thing good about them is the food thanks to the wonderful "bhaiyas" who work in the canteen. The rest of it is just for show. The speeches in which the sisters tell us how much they love/care for us and tell us how we can bring any problems to them... scubala. ugh. not all of them are like that, though. ahhhh, i just haven't had the best experience so excuse me.
I went to these cute little church on Saturday for a worship service and then sunday morning service this weekend. It's an anglican church on Malabar Hill called "All Saints" which looks a LOT like the All Saints church in Bangalore where my brother got married and its absolutely beautiful! The service was also nice. It's one of those where you stand up and sit down a million times and read prayers from a worship book and sing lots of old hymns and it's easy to get lost but nice anyhow. Its not about HOW you worship, its WHO you worship that matters, right?
from the outside

inside the church

My friend, Tripti who took me to the church and yours truly!

Okay now I better get changed out of my shorts or they might not let me have dinner!!

Love, Life and Why

I'm FREE!
Free to do whatever I want cause I don't have to study for another three months atleast...
Free to watch Grey's Anatomy.
Free to read, but oddly I don't FEEL like reading.
Free to move.
Free to go out.
Ah, it's good to be free.

Juno has FINALLY come to India. I am V. V. V. happy about that... I've heard so much about it, I'm dying to watch it.

Yesterday was a blast. We had a Birthday surprise for Vini whose birthday it was on the 12th (the day we had our Psycho exam so we couldn't do much) so we all went out to have lunch at Leopold's in Colaba after we went to buy some books at Crosswords and then pretending like we were all going home and sat Vini on the train and everything and then after a little secret gift shopping at Colaba Causeway we all boarded a local train to IIT-B ALL the way in Powai where Vini lives. (IIT-B campus is AMAZING btw.)
So there was cake, and running around (Sharan!!), and laughter, and yummy food (courtesy of Vini's mum) and fun times.

Am putting up slideshow of photos below.

Ack. I need to find a place to live! Still need prayer on that...

More later,
Toodles.

Once

Ten things I'm going to do after the exams...
  1. Go book shopping ( I have a long list of "To-read" books on Goodreads and also some Crossword vouchers that I have saved since my birthday!)
  2. Watch season 2 of Grey's Anatomy!
  3. Go to the Museum
  4. Get a saree blouse made to a saree that I haven't yet selected ;)
  5. Watch movies
  6. Eat out
  7. Find some new music
  8. Spend time with my friends
  9. GO HOME!

Okay, so not quite TEN things ( I can't believe I couldn't think of ten - any ideas?? )

Three more days to go!

I must go study Psycho...

After I watch the 'Falling Slowly' video on YouTube :D

You are precious.

A WOMAN'S QUESTION

Do you know you have asked for the costliest thing
Ever made by the hand above?
A woman's heart, and a woman's life--
And a woman's wonderful love.

Do you know you have asked for this priceless thing
As a child might ask for a toy?
Demanding what others have died to win
With the reckless dash of a boy.

You have written my lesson of duty out,
Manlike, you have questioned me.
Now stand at the bars of my woman's soul
Until I shall question thee.

You require your mutton shall always be hot,
Your socks and your shirt be whole;
I require your heart be as true as God's stars
And as pure as His heaven your soul.

You require a cook for your mutton and beef,
I require a far greater thing;
A seamstress you're wanting for socks and shirts---
I look for a man and a king.

A king for the beautiful realm called Home,
And a man that his Maker, God,
Shall look upon as he did on the first
And say: "It is very good."

I am fair and young, but the rose may fade
From this soft young cheeck one day;
Will you love me then, 'mid the falling leaves
As you did 'mong the blossoms of May?

Is your heart an ocean so strong and true,
I may launch my all on its tide?
A loving woman finds heaven or hell
On the day she is made a bride.

I require all things that are grand and true,
All things that a man should be;
If you give this all, I would stake my life
To be all you demand of me.

If you cannot be this, a laundress and cook
You can hire and little to pay;
But a woman's heart and a woman's life
Are not to be won that way.

-- Lena Lathrop

Happy Women's Day!
You are precious, don't give your heart away too easily... ;)

The light that fills the darkness...

"God is light, there is no darkness in Him."

I don't know where it is exactly but it's in the Bible and I found it this morning as I frantically searched for something encouraging before I went to give my exam cause I was feeling groggy and hadn't slept enough and I was beginning to worry again.

Hope it encourages you too.

Ancient of Days

One down, five more to go.
I now have a day off before my next paper which is on Sociology. And the tendency is to slacken when I have a break between exams - as you can see.
The exam was pretty okay, btw.
After the exam, we sat around in the canteen and chatted and drank coffee and ate 'samosa pav' and then I came back, had lunch, read a few chapters of 'Cage of Stars' (which is a good book, keeps up the suspense - I just can't firgure out what she's planning to do. good insight on PTSD, which I have to know about for Psych, that's my excuse, this is a long bracket... hmmmm) where was I?
Ah yes, and then I slept. Glorious sleep and I just couldn't wake up. And then I came to get some chai and saw that there was a movie playing on tv - 'Must love dogs' and then there was a scene where they were driving around to buy condoms, which was mildly funny, but I lost interest and so I came online.
And I'm still online. I'm so tempted to watch an episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' but I won't be allowed, until after the exams by my friend who has the entire two (three?) seasons on her laptop. Ack!
I want a flat of my own. Or to share with someone. And I want an oven in it. Or atleast a cooking range, so I can cook and invite people over for brunch or dinner or just cookies and cake and coffee or tea. It's like a dream. Like we used to do in the dorm at school. Remember sunday "Breakfast with the Neighbours"? That was so much fun and oddly satisfying. Eggs, sausages, litchi pudding, kerala toast, cheese spread, cookies, tea, juice... a ton of fun and laughter... and ELVIS! Ha!
Here's a picture of one of our "Breakfast with Neighbours" Sundays. Gail (in the grey jacket in the front) and Rishi (in white t-shirt, extreme left) came over for breakfast - the crazy couple who lived next door! ;) Ah, how I miss thees!

This is the way...

Elihu said to Job in chapter 33, verse 14, 29-30:
"God always answers, one way or another, even when people don't recognize his presence. This is the way God works. Over and over again. He pulls our souls back from certain destruction so we'll see the light--and live in the light!"

Things I'm praying about:
  • Accommodation for next year. Would love a place close to church so I can get more involved or close to where my friends live just as long as I have the freedom to go out and not worry about curfew and getting a 101 permissions...
  • Exams, Exams, Exams... I'm really into Psych this term but I need to work on the other subjects too! And everyone else who's having exams...
  • My friends. I can't thank God enough for the wonderful people I have met through college!
  • My friends from school. I wish I could be more in touch, but I guess I need to realise that things can't exactly be the same. That's hard!
  • My family. Can't wait to go home! About a month to go.
  • Summer holidays. I really hope I don't have to spend the whole time sitting at home cause I know I'll waste a lot of time. Maybe a job, volunteering somewhere or just baking a lot of cakes! (we finally have an oven at home! yeyeye!) I'm hoping to go to Ooty for a while; could do with some hilly air, and Hebron! It's still in the works but I really hope that it happens.
  • Disciplining my thoughts. I get distracted really easily and my mind wanders off, spurning all sorts of ridiculous stories. Not good.
