This day, last year... didn't exist!

... And won't exist for the next four years. Isn't that cool? So we went out to CCD and celebrated that today. It was also our last day of classes for FYBA (First Year in Bachelor of Arts) and also, well... we don't really need a reason to celebrate on most days. Like last week, we went to Moshe's cause Sonu was 19 years and 19 days and I was 20 years and 10 days so we ordered ONE blueberry cheesecake (for 90 rupees, sheesh, can it BE more expensive?) and "celebrated" so yeah... Ha!
Anyway, so this is the first "29th February" on my blog! Cool, cool, COOL!
I am officially on study leave now, although I attended like a total of FOUR classes this last week out of about 16 so things are not going to be terribly different... The studying is going okay. Psychology and Sociology are really interesting when I actually care to LEARN the stuff. French is like stress-relieving - it's fun, well, atleast for me... F.C. and Economics are a bit of a problem...
There are many more things to say, but words elude (is that the right word?) me today.
So, toodles!
P.S. Check out new widget from Dictionary.com under "My Bookshelf" and learn a new word everyday! I LIKE! ;)

crashing waves and setting sun...

I keep changing my banner. I'm quite happy with this one though, so it stays (for a while anyway!). The photo was taken at Amarson's park (you know the place that I love to go and watch the sunset and waves) and then I tweaked it a li'l bit using photoshop and paint... I really like doing that kind of stuff, I realised. It's actually a very distracting hobby, especially when I need to study!
My exams start next week and this week is my last one of classes for my first year of college (although I have actually been to a total of two classes all week)!! Can you believe it? I'm going to be through my first year of college and then I have two more and then things start to get really serious and I have to start asking myself the dreaded "what's next?" question. Yikes.
Anyway that's all in the future...
Here's a picture I forgot I had on my camera that I uploaded yesterday... Can you guess what's happening?

What it is.

Lots of things on my mind.

Just had a fantabulous time sitting by the ocean and watching the sunset and being blown away by the realisation that God loves me and there's nothing else that I could possibly need or want that can take the place of that. Me, a teeny tiny speck on earth compared to the vastness of the ocean, the brightness of the sun, the universe and everything and He loves me!!! AHHHHHH! There's just no way of comprehending fully the greatness of it...
All is well with life!

Anyway, lots of people asking what 'Compelle Intrare' means...

Well this is where I got it from...

“I gave in and admitted that God was God, and knelt and prayed; perhaps that night the, the most dejected and reluctant convert in all England. I didn’t then see what is now the most shining and obvious thing; the Divine humility which will accept a convert even on such terms. The Prodigal Son at least walked home on his own feet. But who can duly adore that Love which will open the high gates to a prodigal who is brought in kicking, struggling, resentful, and darting his eyes in every direction for a chance of escape? The words compelle intrare, compel them to come in, have been so abused by wicked men that we shudder at them; but, properly understood the plumb the depth of the Divine mercy. The hardness of God is kinder than the softness of men, and His compulsion is our Liberation.”

Pakeeza Magic

In the years that I was at Hebron I used to be proud of my hindi and I used to also tease my friends who would claim to know it but were really bad at it and then... I came to Bombay and God put me in my place and made me realise that I am infact TERRIBLE at it myself... It's like every time I open my mouth to say something, it comes out well... embarrassingly wrong! (I'm just as bad in bengali) Anyway, I don't mind it so much cause it makes for some really funny situations at which we all collectively laugh and it will be quoted for days after and then we all laugh again and atleast I remember it that way so as not to make the same mistake again... It's ALL about learning.
So... we watched the movie yesterday and... OH MAN!! I'm still floating in what I call it's pakeeza magic (pure magic). Ah! The war scenes, the story, the songs, the costumes, the sets, the ROMANCE!! Loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it all!
We spent pretty much all morning today listening to all the songs from the film and awwing and ahhhing over scenes from the movie that we could really liked... and in the process we completely killed gauri's phone battery! :S oops!
Anyway, that's all for now...

Fast, time, fast!

Maybe I should be careful about what I ask for...

Anyway, right now I'm just dying for it to be tomorrow cause tomorrow is a holiday and we (Sonu, her cousin, Jo, Sharan, Smriti and I) are going to watch a movie!

We are going to watch this. And I think it's pretty obvious that I am rather excited about it. I hope it's good! Well the songs are good atleast... So if not anything else, I'll enjoy the songs... and the popcorn... and... oh yes, and the company! :P
For now, I better do some studying!
Exams start on the 5th and end on the 13th of March... But the timetable is pretty good - like we have breaks in between the important subjects. And then I'm in Bombay for two weeks... And then off to Kolkata!! Yayyyy!
More later,

Why Georgia, why?

So I've spent all afternoon uploading photos and I'm still not done... Anyway, I managed to make two slideshows - the first of which is below and you can see more here.
The one below is of our train journey to Pune and coffee with Hebronites there!

Perfect timing

Hello all!
It's been a while.
I've had the BEST couple of days and I can't believe it's already time for Niru to leave! :S Anyway, I am SO glad that she got to come and we've had such a blast... My twentieth birthday was also much, much better that I could have imagined for myself and all thanks goes to ALL my wonderful friends! Desis, Good Naughty Girls, Hostelites, Other Hebronites and many, many more people and of course my family! I LOVE YOU ALL! Thanks for making me feel SO loved. I can't thank God enough for blessing me SO much with all the people He has put in my life!
I have plenty of photos but I think I'll have to create a new page and put them all on there...
More on that as soon as I get organised.

We'll be there for you!

So, today it was another brilliant girl's birthday!

Her name is Grace, and she turned 20 today. We met in Std. 9 but didn't really get close till Std. 10 and then we had a big fight! But truth be told, I think that only helped to grow our friendship even more... We've been on many adventures together, had oodles of fun and I seriously don't know how I would have survived those first months out of school if it weren't for Grace living in Bangalore.

Grace is a daughter of the Saviour King, Grace is kind, Grace is good, Grace is sweet, Grace is lovable, Grace is gorgeous, Grace is artistic, Grace is musical, Grace is jolly, Grace is adventurous, Grace is just wonderful!

So here's to you, my darling!

I'm glad we're friends, I'm sorry we haven't been in touch so much these past months but that doesn't change much, trust me.

Love you lots!

Where did all the cookies go?

This post was written yesterday but the internet wasn't working so I couldn't post it...

If any stranger bumped into us, they would definitely be shocked on knowing our age-range! Today, Sonu turned 19 and all of us have passed 18 and guess what we did?

Who stole the cookie from the coo-kie jar?
Number 4 stole the cookie from the cookie jar.

Who me?
Yes you!
Couldn’t be!
Then who?
Number 8 stole th… (peals of laughter!)
Sharan, there is NO number 8!!!
(more laughter)
Ok, ok, let’s try it again….
Who stole the cookie from the coo-kie jar?
….

Uhhhhhh, (once again, peals of laughter!!)
Vini!!! Say something!!!
Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar?
Um, number heeheeheeheeheee
Did anybody hear that? What number was that?
And so on…

You get the idea!
We were also all dressed in Orange or pink – Sonu likes those colours together…

Might I add, that we practically didn’t attend ANY classes. And it’s terrible when we do that for psycho classes cause like 5/7 of us go to that class together and all sit together taking up pretty much an entire row so it’s well, uhm, very obvious that we bunked!

My goodness we laughed so much… Like Vini said, if we could lose weight simply by laughing we would have disappeared by now!

Fun, fun times! I love birthdays! We’re always so excited about giving the gifts and there’s lots of clapping and squealing and hugs and laughter. Ah, a glimpse of heaven.

Here’s a picture of ALL of us together after the gift-giving session happened. There was a bag, new chappals, a kurti, a book (written by sharan!), a dvd, a cake, a letter (written by vini!), earrings – almost all of which sonu put into use immediately! You can see the bag on her lap and she’s wearing the chappals – but you can’t see that.

Sweet Curd

Suddenly the world seems such a beautiful place...

Hello!

It's been a long day. I have been from Colaba to Andheri and back.

Tomorrow is Sonu's birthday!!

I don't really feel like blogging today.

It rained last night!! Not everywhere in Bombay apparently, but it did here... Which is crazeee. First of all, it's not supposed to be this cold in Bombay, like ever, and then it rains in the beginning of February. What's going on?!

Here's another installment of the Hebron memories... this was taken in Std. 13 after what we called the "Leaver's Dinner". I think you know the people by now... ;)

Fresh Strawberry Icecream!

mmmmmm!
Ooh, I forgot one yesterday...
6 days till Grace's birthday!
Today was mostly a good day...
It's the 1st of February!
On the 1st of every month, Gelato ice-cream sells one flavour for 9 bucks! Which is really cheap and today's flavour was Fresh Strawberry Cream. mmmmmmm, so good! I had one and a half cups and am considering one more later in the evening but then I'm too lazy to walk down...
Anyway, so on the way back from Gelato we stopped and looked at some hair accessories on the sidewalk and also some 'Mills and Boons' books which were on display on sale at a bookstore (hmmm, no comment!) and then finally went into this store that has a LOT of food! Mostly american stuff at (obviously) very high prices and we found one thing that we could afford (besides Jolly Ranchers). You guessed right, Dr. Pepper! I've heard a lot about this drink so we thought we'd try it out. It was for 40 bucks and we shared one between the three of us - Antu, Sonu and I. It was.... very fizzy! Yeah, tasted good too, but not that great. We're planning to try cranberry juice next time! ;) They also had Starbucks stuff... Frappaccino and what not and I thought of Kari :) I think I'd much rather have a fresh coffee than one that's been packaged months ago though.

Get out of the boat!
